Full moon by Sotirios Papadopoulos is just out of this world
Designed by Sotirios Papadopoulos for ENNEZERO, the limited edition Full moon sideboard furniture adds celestial touch to any décor with a photo-realistic image of the moon’s surface lavishly printed on one of its sides. Created using a very special luminous and ecological paint (ELI ‘ecolightinside’), the furniture creates special effects in the dark and make you feel like you are basking in unadulterated moonlight on a full-moon night in the country. Only 24 pieces of the furniture have been made and the design will be on display at the SOHO temporary gallery in Milan during the dEMOsign exhibition.

Fashion at Crab Creative

We asked all our guys and girls at Crab to select their fave fashion shots. We are going to be developing some new imagery for a photographer that relies on animation, video and stills to generate a new way of looking at images. The small selection of images that follow are from various artists and photographers our team selected in our research process.

Microsoft - Xbox 360

ARE THEY STUPID OR WHAT!!!

Despite rumours - and the fervent hopes of many console gamers - that Microsoft was planning a Blu-ray equipped Xbox 360, a senior Microsoft executive has popped the bubble.

Aaron Greenberg, Microsoft's Group Marketing Manager, has said in an interview that Microsoft will not be producing any Blu-flavoured Xbox hardware. None. Zip.

oooooooooooh, the virus, very cool

iBBCphone

The BBC has launched a version of its iPlayer video on demand service for the Apple iPhone and iPod touch.

It is the first time the service has been available on portable devices.

The iPhone and iPod touch are able to stream shows from the iPlayer website over wi-fi networks. The iPhone cannot stream BBC video over the cell network. A BBC developer said that the corporation was currently working on other versions of the iPlayer for "many more" devices.

Anthony Rose, writing on the BBC internet blog, said: "We started with iPhone because it is the device most optimised for high quality video currently available.

"It displays the BBCiPlayer site and BBC programmes nicely."

The software currently comes in two versions - a program which allows users to download programmes to their Windows PC and a streaming version on the web available to all users.

The version for iPhone and iPod touch users will allow streaming over a wi-fi connection. However, the EDGE mobile network used by the iPhone is too slow for streaming video.

The corporation has agreed a deal with wi-fi firm The Cloud to provide all BBC online services for free at its 7,500 hotspots.

A version of iPlayer for Virgin Media customers is expected later this month.

VRD - Seeing the future

With the development of new high-brightness LEDs, the University of Washington are developing a new breed of VRD - Visual Retinal Display - which draws a high-resolution edge-less display directly onto the retina of the eye.

Ok so the projection apparatus needs to sit somewhere but a pair of ordinary looking glasses are plenty big enough to house all the electronics and hey presto, no more bulky computer screen, or miniscule little portable DVD screens - full field of vision viewing in super high quality!

The display can also be used as an overlay to what you are actually seeing around you, so how about speech notes as you talk, nav directions, building or street layouts as you walk, or even recipes as you cook?

Microvision are currently developing commercial versions of this technology and their website is here:

They're also looking at business projectors that fit inside your mobile...pretty cool people
